Office Administration - Medical

"Hi my name is Hayley Thompson and I am a student at Durham College in the Office Administration - Medical program. I chose this program because by second year, you have three choices. You can pick executive, legal or medical so it gives you time to feel the program out and see what you are interested in, and what you are leaning towards as a career. I find that the professors are very helpful when it comes to choosing your career and what kind of direction you want to go in."

"The field placement element of the course is beneficial to students because it gives them a chance to use what they have learned in the class room in the real work force. This is good because real experience is what gets you the furthest in your career."

"I think that this program is great for the people who are wanting to get into the medical administration field. It gives you a lot of different paths to choose from, a lot of knowledge and different ideas about what kind of career choices you can get into in the medical field. Another great element about the office administration program is that health professionals come in and actually teach the students how to use the Meditech software. It is great to get hands-on experience with what we are going to be using in the work place."
