Durham College's faculty and staff enjoyed a great dinner on October 4 while celebrating their colleagues' five-, 10-, 15-, 20-, 25- and 30-year anniversaries.

Hundreds of guests gathered at General W. Sikorski Polish Veterans Association Hall on October 4 to honour more than 200 faculty and staff celebrating milestone anniversaries and outstanding service to Durham College.

Ken Robb, vice-president of Human Resources, emceed the evening, while Leah Myers, president of Durham College congratulated and thanked those who were celebrating five-, 10-, 15-, 20-, 25- and 30-year anniversaries with the college.

Faculty, staff, and their friends and family mingled over dinner and cocktails and watched as colleagues posed for photographs with Myers on stage. Robb interacted with guests, bringing them back to the songs and movies that were popular in the years the featured employees began their careers at Durham. In addition, there were draws for door prizes, including one hour of ice time at the Campus Ice Centre, a one-year gold membership to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre and gift certificates.

Two college professors received a standing ovation to congratulate them on 30 years of service. Rick Hird, a professor with the schools of Business and Information Technology, and Rick Kerr, a professor with the School of Justice, have each held a number of roles during their time at the college.
