Prospective students were able to speak with faculty and current students at the 2006 Durham College Open House.
As high school students across the country are researching post-secondary institutions and preparing to apply to college or university, Durham College is inviting prospective students and their families to visit the college's vibrant campus and learn more about its programs, opportunities and student life at upcoming open houses.
Taking place on Thursday, November 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday, November 2 from 9 a.m. to noon, in the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, the Oshawa Campus Open House event enables prospective students to tour the campus and residences; speak with faculty and current students from Durham College; learn about athletics, extracurricular activities and clubs; and speak with representatives from 25 other Ontario colleges. Visitors will also have the opportunity to register in an electronic draw to win prizes, including free tuition for one year.
"Prospective students get to experience the wow factor when they visit campus," said Stephanie Thomson, an on-campus event co-ordinator for the college. "They can come on campus and get comfortable with their surroundings, along with speaking directly to faculty and asking specific questions that they can get really great answers to."
