Past and present members of the Durham College community celebrated the success of more than 400 graduates from more than 50 programs at the college's annual fall convocation ceremonies on Thursday, October 18.

The ceremony took place during the college's 40th-anniversary year and recognized the accomplishments of graduating students.

Held at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, the class of 2007 was treated to a congratulatory speech by Leslie Lepp, a Durham College alumna and recent Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Hall of Fame inductee. Lepp addressed students about moving into the next stage of their lives, whether it's into the working world or to pursue further education.

"During my Sports Administration studies, I developed a passion for my courses from my teachers who demonstrated their own passion on a regular basis," Lepp told graduates. "This passion was also felt through my varsity coaches who helped to make me a better, well-rounded individual."

Diplomas and certificates were handed out to students from the schools of Applied Sciences, Apprenticeship, Skilled Trades & Technology; Business; Information Technology; Integrated Studies; Communication Arts; Design; Health & Community Services; Justice; and Emergency Services.

Since its inception in 1967, Durham College has graduated more than 42,000 students, helping more and more become successful professionals each year.

Offering more than 80 programs and courses, Durham College ensures graduates have the market-ready skills to obtain great careers and make a difference in the world.

Congratulations to the class of 2007!
