1. Perform search and click on View Abstract/Citation.
2. Click on Export Citation.
3. Select RefWorks Direct Export and click Download Citation button.
4. At the bottom of the screen follow the link "direct export this citation into RefWorks".
5. If you are already logged in to RefWorks the reference will be directly imported to the Last Imported Folder.
6. If you are not already logged into RefWorks a new window will open with the RefWorks login page. Once you login, the references will be imported to the Last Imported Folder.
ACM (American Computing Machinery) Digital Library
1. Perform search and click on full citation for the individual articles you wish to export.
2. Click on the BibTex display format.
3. A new window will open. Copy and paste the contents of this window into Notepad.
4. Save the file as a .txt file.
5. To import the references in RefWorks, go to the References menu and choose Import.
6. Select BibTeX as the Import Filter/Data Source and ACM Digital Library as the Database.
7. Browse for your saved .txt file and click Import.
Canada's Heritage (Globe and Mail)
1. Information from Canada's Heritage must be entered into RefWorks manually.
2. In RefWorks, go to the References menu and Add New Reference.
3. Choose the appropriate Ref Type and Source Type (e.g. newspaper article, electronic) and note the fields available.
4. Enter the information from Canada's Heritage to the appropriate fields in RefWorks.

1. Perform your search and click on Add or Add to Folder to keep the references you wish to export.
2. When you are ready to export, click on Folder has items.
3. Click on Export.
4. Select Direct Export to RefWorks and click on Save.

Direct export:
1. Perform search and mark the references you wish to export.
2. Click on Results Manager.
3. In the Fields section, select Complete Reference.
4. In the Result Format section, select Direct Export.
5. Click on Save.
6. Select Export results to Refworks and hit Continue.
7. If you are already logged in to RefWorks the reference will be directly imported to the Last Imported Folder.
8. If you are not already logged into RefWorks, a new window will open with the RefWorks login page. Once you login, the references will be imported to the Last Imported Folder.Manually save and import records:

1. Perform search and mark the references you wish to export.
2. Click on the marked items link in the My Research tab at the top of the page.
3. Click on Export citations.
4. Click on Export directly to RefWorks.
5. You may be prompted for your student number and network password.
6. A new window will open and you will be prompted to login to RefWorks. Once you login, the references will be imported to the Last Imported Folder.
ScienceDirect1. Perform search and mark the references you wish to export.
2. Change the Display option from Summary to MEDLINE.
3. Click the Display button.
4. Make sure the Send to option is Text then click the Send to button.
5. Save the file as a .txt file.
6. To import the references in RefWorks, go to the References menu and choose Import.
7. Select NLM PubMed as the Import Filter/Data Source and select PubMed as the Database.
8. Browse for your saved .txt file and click Import.
1. Mark the records you want to import and click Export Citations.
2. Select either All documents or Only these documents for the Marked records.
3. Select Citations + Abstracts to export the record's abstracts.
4. Select the RefWorks Direct Export and click Export.
5. The export will open RefWorks if it is not already open and automatically import the references.
6. Your records should appear in the Last Imported Folder.
