Off-Campus access

Our licensing agreements restrict access to electronic resources to Durham College students, faculty and staff. Generally, the licenses exclude alumni, and persons from the community at large. The Library employs a proxy server to authenticate both on and off campus users. The proxy server checks if the user is authorized to use the resource, and if successful, passes this information on to the vendor. When you first click on a licensed resource from the web portal, you will be asked to enter your user name and password. All you need to have is a valid ID number and network password. You will only need to enter this information once per browser session.
