RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" It is a simple XML-based system that allows users to subscribe to their favourite websites.
To use the Durham College Library News feeds, you need to use either an RSS newsreader, or the Firefox browser. RSS readers come in many flavours, both web based or client based (you have to download and install the software). We can't recommend any particular one, but if you do a Google search for "rss reader" you will find several popular and freely available ones. Or visit http://allrss.com/rssreaders.html for an annotated list of several programs, grouped by platform.
The Firefox browser has native support for the feeds, called Live Bookmarks, as well as several extensions that you can find on http://www.mozilla.org/
Once your reader has been set up, all you have to do is to add the link attached to the
icon on the Library news page. In Firefox, just click on the icon in the address bar, and you will be prompted to save the feed in the live bookmarks.
