- Being current in field of teaching expertise;
- Facilitating learning using varied teaching techniques and presentations to address different learning styles;
- Monitoring, reporting, and providing on-going feedback of individual achievement;
- Being available for appointments at mutually agreed times outside of class hours;
- Directing students to appropriate student services; and
- Following subject outline.
Plus - support staff:
- Providing professional, quality customer service to students and staff;
- Directing students and staff to appropriate resources;
- Supporting and assisting students in their learning and career goals; and
- Promoting services that enhance student success.
Plus - administration:
- Meeting or exceeding standards of excellence;
- Managing budgets and resources;
- Supporting students and staff in meeting their responsibilities;
- Supporting/directing approved operational procedures;
- Communicating relevant information in a timely fashion; and
- Being current in the field of leadership in a college environment.
In addition, Durham College commits to embracing the KPIs as defined by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities. As such, all programs and related academic services will review the KPI data and prepare a continuous improvement strategy (KPI Report Card) annually with the expectation of improving programs and services for students and employers.
