Office of the President

Leah Myers | President of Durham College

Welcome to the Durham College website!

For close to 40 years, Durham College has served the Region of Durham, the Greater Toronto Area and the province of Ontario by providing outstanding career-oriented training and education that leads to real jobs in the marketplace. With main campuses in Oshawa and Whitby, and offering close to 100 programs in 11 specialized schools, Durham College has consistently demonstrated that it is one of the premier colleges in the province. The employment rate of our graduates is high - higher than any other GTA college - and employers know that Durham College graduates arrive job-ready. In fact, we offer an Employer Guarantee for graduates working full-time, part-time and on contract. If an employer finds one of our graduates lacks the skills normally acquired in their program, we'll provide additional training and full tuition for one Durham College course credit for up to one year after they graduate.

Student success is our #1 priority. It is the focus of everything we do - from ensuring we have top faculty and staff, reaching out to our secondary schools, delivering high-quality student services including special support to our first-year students, to working with employers to ensure we're training to the curriculum and standards that they expect.

It is an honour and the privilege for me to serve as Durham College's fourth president since it opened its doors in 1967. I took on this role in April 2006, and with my first academic year as president, I am proud to say that our enrolment continues to grow to 6,000 full-time students in addition to hundreds of apprentices and part-time students.

I encourage you to explore our website and visit our campuses to find out more about what Durham College can do for you. Whether you're a recent high school graduate, an adult considering a career change, or an employer seeking partnerships to build your workforce today and tomorrow, we have what you're looking for!
