Symptoms of a contagious illness include:
- Diarrhoea (two abnormal stools in one day, watery or loose bowel movement that is unusual for that child);
- Vomiting;
- Common cold (swelling of nasal membranes, followed by a discharge which is watery or becomes thick and green);
- Fever (temperature which is or has been above 38 degrees Celsius);
- Unexplained or untreated rashes; and/or
- Head lice and nits.
