Manager, Student Rights and Responsibilities
Salary Range: $64,649 to $72,000
The Manager of Student Rights and Responsibilities will report directly to the Director, Office of Campus Safety. He/she will hire, train and orient new staff to the department and provide leadership and direction to the Student Rights and Responsibilities team. The incumbent will provide advice to students, faculty, staff and administration on behavioural issues as well as provide investigative assistance and advice.

The incumbent is required to have specialized training in investigation, mediation and negotiation and an undergraduate degree in a related field is preferred. He or she will have a minimum of five years related experience. Strongly committed to ethical and professional standards, the successful candidate will possess a highly developed level of professional judgment, diplomacy, problem solving, and crisis management skills. Familiarity with administrative law and the rules of natural justice, as well as event risk management would be an asset.
He or she will have experience at the supervisory level and excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational and problem solving skills. The successful incumbent will have a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as strong teambuilding capabilities. Experience in policy and procedural development is required in addition to teaching experience with a diverse population.
The incumbent will possess a demonstrated ability to multi-task, evaluate issues and provide alternative solutions. In addition, the incumbent will be a self-starter, proactive, service oriented and able to remain calm under pressure. Experience in working in both college and university environments is strongly encouraged. The incumbent will possess on-call responsibilities as required for evenings and weekends during the academic peak period.
