All new staff at Durham College are required to attend orientation sessions.
Purpose:
- To acquaint all new staff with the shared values of the college and the philosophy of the academic school.
- To inform new staff of their benefits package
- To overview the systems for accessing support services
- To encourage new staff to participate in on-going professional development activities
- To introduce staff to the Individual Development Plan
Activities:
- Full day for orientation modules with Human Resources personnel
- Half day with Human Resources Development Coordinator
- Half day with divisional supervisor
Comments:
- This orientation will be held throughout the year for all new hires
- Various workshops will be scheduled throughout the year
- All new faculty will complete an orientation package and discuss completion with their immediate supervisor
