GPA Calculation

Semester GPA

The weighting of a course is significant in calculating a GPA. The following are two examples of a course load with the same average; however, the GPA is not the same.

NOTE:  The marks are the same but they have been assigned to different courses.

  • ** for numerical equivalent, refer to chart.
  • *** course weighting times numerical equivalent, presented to students as 'Quality Points' on the Final Grades screen of MyCampus.

Example 2: This example shows the same average (58.2) but a different GPA.

If a course has been repeated and it has the same course code, only the higher of the two marks will be calculated into the GPA.
