The Campus Safety Committee is a sub-committee of the Joint Health & Safety Committees, with membership that reflects the majority of the campus community.* Campus safety is also referred to as personal safety.
The committee's intent is to address the results of personal safety audits and Risk Assessment Surveys that relate specifically to:

Improving facilities by investing in equipment such as improved or additional lighting, security mirrors, monitoring equipment, communication devices, fencing, landscaping;

Educate and inform staff and students about women's safety and security, sexual harassment and violence against women and preventative measures; and,

Develop and support programs that address the safety and security of female staff and students, such as the Campus Walk Program.
Campus Safety initiatives and programs are primarily funded by the Women's Campus Safety Grant from the Ministry of Education.
