IT Strategy Board

The Durham College IT Strategy Board was established in 2004 to articulate an overarching vision of how the college plans to use information and communication technology in support of teaching, learning, administration and entrepreneurial activities.

This board will advise Academic Council, the senior administration, and the Board of Governors on questions of policy concerning the planning, allocation, and use of resources to achieve that vision. The vice-president, Information Technology, will provide advice on matters related to institution-wide technology planning and policy issues in relation to teaching, learning, administration and entrepreneurial activities. The board will review the principles and priorities for the allocation of information technology resources and services that support the academic goals and objectives articulated in the academic plans of the college.

To ensure a broad representation of the college community is obtained, the board shall consist of the vice-president, Information Technology (chair); the dean from each school and the college library; the vice-presidents of Academics, Finance, Strategic Enrolment Management, Student Services; the Director of the Centre for Academic Excellence and Innovation; the chairperson of the College Academic Council; and the president of the Student Association.
