In 2003 the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), the province's first new university in decades, opened its doors at Durham College's Oshawa campus. With UOIT as a campus educational partner, Durham College students are exposed to unique bridging programs, offering the opportunity to pursue a university degree in less than the traditional time. New pathways between Durham College and UOIT, and between UOIT and Durham College, are being developed on an ongoing basis as part of the sharing agreement between the two institutions.
UOIT currently has over 5,000 students and offers more than thirty undergraduate and graduate programs.
