The chief role of our Communications and Marketing department is to ensure that a strong, positive image of Durham College is communicated proactively to all internal and external audiences, and that the image is consistent with our college's mission.

Our department's main areas of responsibility are:

  • production of key college publications including the calendar, viewbook, brochures and fundraising materials
  • news releases and media relations
  • event planning and management
  • advertising
  • the college website
  • the college's visual identity
  • providing communications advice to campus departments
  • crisis communication

Time and resources have been invested in researching target audiences, key messages, images, techniques and communication. This led to the creation of a strategic communications and marketing plan which is reviewed and assessed regularly.
