If you've been laid off within the last 12 months, are currently unemployed or working less than 20 hours a week and are considering a new career, you may qualify for Second Career.
My name is Sue Hawkins and I will be your primary contact at Durham College for Second Career. This newly created Ontario government program is designed to help unemployed workers who commit to a long-term training plan make the transition to new careers in growing areas of the economy. If you qualify, the Ontario government will provide funding towards tuition, living and transportation costs. This is where Durham College can help. We offer a number of programs that can assist you in realizing your career goals.
I have worked at Durham College for seven years, during which time I have provided clients with support and information regarding Durham College programs. This experience will allow me to meet your unique needs.
For more information about how you can benefit from the Second Career Strategy, please feel free to contact me at 905.721.3219 or sue.hawkins@durhamcollege.ca [This link will open in a new window].
To find out if you are eligible for Second Career, contact a local Assessment Centre, funded by Employment Ontario.
I look forward to meeting with you!
