Services/Programs

Your Student Identification Card allows you access to a number of services, resources and facilities, outlined below:

Library Resources

The barcode and validation date on your card verifies your status for borrowing privileges. Returning students' cards must be validated before the end of September each year.

Media Services

Borrowing privileges for equipment and media are verified by your current Campus Identification Card.

Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre

As a registered student your Campus Identification Card is your access card. It is also required to reserve facilities or rent equipment.

Exams & Tests

Be prepared to bring your Campus Identification Card to all exams and tests.

Learner Support Centre

You must present your current ID card at the front reception desk for scanned access to the resource centre.

Student Health Benefit Plan

Your current card verifies your status as a current benefit plan subscriber to health plan providers.

Transit Discounts - U-Pass

As a full time postsecondary student, your Campus ID Card is your identification card for the U-Pass discounted bus service on all Durham Region Transit routes and GO Transit routes within Durham Region. U-Pass service is only valid from September to mid May.

Monthly Discounts

Non-full time students are eligible to purchase student rate monthly transit passes with their part time or non-postsecondary Campus ID cards.

Student Centre

Your current card will allow access to a variety of services and events supported by your Student Association, such as the used Bookstore, event tickets and pub access.

Meal Plan accounts

Are activated and accessed by your card. You will find Chartwells offices in the following locations:

    • Market Place Cafeteria (Oshawa, main bldg.)
    • South Village Residence Dining Hall
    • Whitby Cafeteria

Flex Dollar Accounts

Are initially purchased with all meal plans but additional dollars may be added onto your account at any Chartwells cash registers upon presentation of your ID card.

Flex Dollars may be used at the following locations on campus:

Oshawa Main Campus

  • Williams Coffee Pub
  • Tim Horton's & The Big Pita
  • The Market Place (main cafeteria)
  • Library - Cafe

South Village Residence

  • Dining Hall
  • Convenience Store

Simcoe Building - Cafe

Student Centre - Food Court

UOIT Science Building

UOIT Business & IT Building- UB Cafeteria

Skilled Trades Campus (Whitby) - Cafeteria

Retail Discounts

May be possible on and off campus while registered in Postsecondary education. Examples of these opportunities include; restaurant discounts, student rates at theatres and other retail establishments. Show your card and save money!

 

Debit Card Services

The smart chip on all student cards acts as a debit system that allows for cashless photocopying in several campus buildings.

You may deposit money onto your card at any Cash Manager Machine stations:

  • Oshawa
    • Gordon Willey building - Main foyer
  • Library
    • Main floor L1B 136E.
  • Whitby - main entrance hallway

All Cash Managers accept up to a maximum of $20. but it is recommended that you keep a balance of less than $5. If you withdraw or lose your card, the balance is non-refundable.

To deposit cash on your card, follow the directions on the LED screen. It is not necessary to purchase a Copy Card from the Cash Manager if you have a current ID Card.

Cash Manager Machines will only accept $1. coins, $2. coins, $5. $10 and $20. bills.
