Orientation is the ideal way for students to begin the year. Orientation programming is specifically designed to help students make new friends, mingle with faculty, learn about the campus and discover the many exciting opportunities Durham College has to offer throughout the year. The Student Life office commits to offering fun, safe and alcohol-free orientation activities during the week to help new students adjust to campus life.
Learning at college is quite different from high school. Students are studying in much larger classes, are introduced to high-tech teaching methods, and are responsible for balancing personal interests and a heavier course load.
Family members are also experiencing a transition, whether students are commuting from home, living on campus or in another location. By continuing to communicate openly and trusting students to make wise decisions, everyone will feel supported and able to celebrate this exciting time.
