Program Orientation (various starting times)
Get your free orientation t-shirt! Meet your faculty, upper-year students and other first-year students in your program. This is a great opportunity to receive detailed program information from the people who have been through it before. All first-year students will receive a letter from their Dean outlining the time and location of this event for their program.

Campus Extravaganza (Polonsky Commons, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Join us for the largest campus event of the year! You will find lots of fun-filled activities including a free barbecue and a carnival right here in the Polonsky Commons! Checkout the clubs and services fair where you will have the opportunity to join a club and get involved and familiarize yourself with the great services offered at Durham College. Visit the orange Stubb's Hub tent, home of Dude Where's My Class, to get a personalized campus tour and see where all your classes will be held - don't forget to bring your class schedule!

The Orientation Express (noon to 11:30 p.m.)
This free bus service will be running from noon until approximately 11:30 p.m. from the Whitby campus - Skills Training Centre to the Oshawa campus for students who wish to attend orientation programming.

Mature/Transfer Students' Orientation (Meet at the Learner Support Centre, 1:30 to 4 p.m.)
This orientation was created to address the unique needs of the mature and transfer student population. Join us to receive an overview of some of the important services at Durham College with presentations from Your SA, the Campus Library, Financial Aid and Awards, the Campus Health Centre and the Learner Support Centre. Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the campus and brush up on some of the computer skills required at the post-secondary level. Register here.

Staff to Student Mentoring Social (SW202, 4 to 5 p.m.)
Come out and enjoy some refreshments and meet your mentor for the upcoming year! Visit the first-year experience web pages for more information on the mentoring program.

The Off-campus Students' Social a.k.a. Captain Jack's Off-shore Shack (Polonsky Commons,       4 to 7 p.m.)
Off-campus students are invited to join Captain Jack and the rest of the DC Crew for some free dinner, live music and a chance to meet other commuter students. Don't forget to pick-up Captain Jack's guide to living off-campus!

Double Feature - Ironman and Fool's Gold

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and friends to experience a movie night under the stars! Also, don't forget your loonies and toonies as the Shinerama team will be out in full force selling concession items in support of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Shinerama is Canada's largest post-secondary fundraiser involving students at nearly 60 universities and colleges across Canada. For more information on Shinerama visit www.shinerama.ca.
