Shinerama is Canada's largest post-secondary fundraiser involving students at approximately 60 college and university campuses across Canada annually. It is a nation wide campaign that raises money to help fund Cystic Fibrosis (CF) research and treatment programs.
When Shinerama began in 1964, most children with Cystic Fibrosis did not live long enough to attend kindergarten. Today, half of all Canadians with CF may expect to live to the age of 37 or even longer. With the support of the many Shinerama campaigns across Canada we will continue to move even closer to one day finding a cure.

A huge thanks to all the brave golfers who came out to support the Shinerama Fall Classic Golf Tournament. Despite the cold wind golfers enjoyed a sunny afternoon of golfing and a tasty hamburger dinner all while raising over $700.

The Shinerama team was at it again with the first annual Cornstock event at the Durham College Skills Training Centre in Whitby. Students enjoyed fire roast corn-on-the-cob for a small donation to the campaign. Thanks to everyone who came out to support!

What a day! The rain didn't stop our over 40 volunteers from attending the annual Shinerama Shine Day Car Wash on September 6. Volunteers stationed at Kelsey's, Shoeless Joe's, Simcoe Village Residence and the Campus Ice Centre worked all day to raise over $500. Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to support!

Shinerama Captains Robyn Caton and Nicole Robichaud represented Durham College at the 2008 National Shinerama Conference at the University of Western Ontario this past May. The conference brought together Shinerama Captains from across Canada to learn more about Cystic Fibrosis, share ideas, make contacts and participate in various information sessions.
Hightlights from the conference included guest speakers who shared stories about loved ones effected by Cystic Fibrosis, event planners who spoke about successful fundraising ideas and various other tips on how to run an amazing Shinerama campaign.

The Shinerama team was at it again as several members of the committee traveled to the Whitby campus - Skills Training Centre to host a bake sale. Baked goods donated by staff members and students raised over $200.

The Shinerama team travelled around to various offices on campus selling Valentine's Day candy candy grams and raised over $100 to kick-off the 2008 campaign.
