Is Orientation Week mandatory?
Participation at Orientation Week is voluntary, however, it is strongly recommended.This is an opportunity for first-year students to arrive on campus, participate in many exciting activities, meet new friends and become acquainted with the campus before the arrival of upper-year students.
Do I have to register in advance for Orientation Week?
No. Orientation Week is open to all new full time students of Durham College.
Is there a fee for Orientation Week?
There is no fee to participate in any of the events organized by the Student Life office. We will however be selling concession items at our Movie-on-the-Lawn nights in support of the student fundraiser Shinerama which raises money for Cystic Fibrosis.
Can parents and family members attend Orientation Week?
September Orientation Week is intended for first-year students only.
I
am underage. Can I still participate in the activities?
All Student Life activities are for students of all ages and are alcohol-free.
What should I bring to Orientation?
Many activities are planned for outdoors so be sure to wear comfortable clothing and bring sunscreen. Program t-shirts will be distributed when you arrive on September 2 to wear throughout the day.
