 1. I have my Letter of Acceptance, now what do I do?
  • You need to contact the nearest Canadian Embassy, Consulate or High Commission to request the forms to apply for your Study Permit. Click here for a listing of Canadian Immigration Offices.
  • You should send the confirmation for and the $540 deposit to us as soon as you know you will be coming. The $540 deposit is non-refundable and will reserve your seat in the program.
 2. How do I pay my fees?
  • With your Letter of Acceptance you received an Invoice. Sign and date the bottom of the invoice and mail it to us with your tuition fee payment.
  • You can pay by Credit card, money order, bank draft.
  • Fees MUST be paid by the date on your invoice. Usually 1 month before classes begin.
 3. What happens if I don't pay my fees by the deadline date?
  • If you do not pay your tuition fees in full by the deadline date, you could possibly lose your seat to someone else who has paid.
 4. What if I don't get my Study Permit in time to make the start date on my Letter of Acceptance?
  • If you are studying EAP first then you can transfer to the next start date. We have them every 8 weeks.
  • If you are going directly into a post-secondary program, it is possible to defer to the next start date. A new Letter of Acceptance from Durham College is required.
5. How long do I have to study EAP?
  • That depends on your current level of English. You will have to complete your EAP classes before you can enter into your post-secondary program. For example, you cannot take EAP classes at the same time as your Business Administration classes.

  • A 1300-bed residence offers two-bedroom suites and large double rooms, each with its own washroom and kitchen facilities. Brochures and information are available in the International Education Office or Student Support Services (B205)

 8. What do I do when I get my Study Permit?
  • You should contact the International Education Office to let us know when you will be arriving and if you need airport pickup arranged.
 9. What do I do when I get to Oshawa?
  • You should come to the International Education Office and register for your classes.
 10. How much are tuition fees and what do they include?
  • Tuition for one year is approximately $12,000 CDN (please note that individual programs may be slightly higher due to equipment costs). This includes health insurance, locker fee, UPASS, graduation fee, and all other incidental fees ie. athletic expansion, student association fees etc. It does not include books or living expenses.
 11. Do I have to pay all of my tuition at one time?
  • Yes we require that all fees for the year are paid prior to registering for your courses. If a student withdraws after the 10th day of scheduled classes, there will be no refund, in whole or in part for the semester.
