Oshawa, Ont. - Outstanding individuals are sought for Durham College's 2004 Alumni of Distinction awards. Candidates should be Durham graduates who have achieved success in their professions and who have contributed to the college and/or the community.
Six awards are offered, one for each of the following categories: applied arts (creative arts and design), applied arts (community service), business, health sciences, technology, and the newest category, recent graduate. The recent graduate category is open to Durham College alumni who graduated in 1997 or later.
Durham graduates continue to lead honourable careers and inspiring lives and many have made distinct contributions in their professions and in their communities. Recent award recipients include Darrell Sewell (Business-Human Resources, 1989), Lorraine Sunstrum-Mann (Nursing, 1998), and Amy White (Public Relations, 1994). Since its launch in 1991, the awards program has recognized 36 Durham College alumni.
