On Saturday March 20, the Durham Paramedic Association held its second Annual Skills Competition at the Whitby Campus. Teams from as far away as Edmonton came to compete at one of three levels: Primary Care, Advanced Care and Student categories. The competition involved skills, knowledge and critical thinking applied in a variety of mock situations.
The two student teams representing Durham College placed first and fourth respectively in the student competition! Competitors and judges also commented on the enthusiastic contribution of Durham students from both the first and second year. Students assisted as patients and marshals. Without their participation, the competition would not have been the well-received success that it was.
Champions: Keith Robinson and Jordan Kaiser
Fourth Place: Kim Weekes and Brian Ciesielski
