Top students to be honoured at scholarship ceremony

November 4, 2004

Oshawa, Ont. - Durham College will celebrate the academic achievements of some of its top students at the annual scholarship ceremony on Thursday, November 4.

Awards and scholarships, donated by area individuals and community partners, will be presented to students in all program areas from both the Oshawa and Whitby campuses.

There are 184 awards in total. These include memorial awards, scholarships presented on behalf of businesses and corporate partners, grants from Durham College, as well as donations from the community at large.

This year, two companies are also celebrating scholarship milestones: Bank of Montreal has shown their support for students in the form of scholarships for 30 years (since 1974), and Whitby-based Totten Sims Hubicki Associates (TSH) has donated scholarships for 20 years (since 1984).

The scholarship ceremony is at 4 p.m. in the Durham College gymnasium at 2000 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
