Students to help build Habitat for Humanity home

December 1, 2004

OSHAWA, Ont. - On December 17, students of the Self Management course in the Carpentry Pre-Apprentice program of the Whitby Skills Training Centre will be working with Habitat for Humanity to build a home in Uxbridge.

Local professionals, as well as charitable volunteers, will be on hand to join the Habitat for Humanity crew as they build the residence, which has a scheduled completion date of January 2005.

As part of this particular project, they are launching a new chapter called Habitat for Humanity North Durham, marking the beginning of a union between this group and the region.

Habitat for Humanity is an international, charitable housing program that builds affordable homes for families in need and provides interest-free mortgages to those who can not afford to purchase a home.
