Oshawa, Ont. - For the second year in a row, Durham College Graphic Design students plan to wow visitors with an exhibit of their work at the Design Exchange in Toronto.
The show, which runs from March 31 to April 5 inclusive, will feature graphic design work created by first-, second- and third-year students over the past year. Titled mania, the exhibit will include editorial design, packaging, advertising, illustrations and other examples of graphic design. The Design Exchange is located at 234 Bay Street, just south of King Street.
A panel of Durham College professors and students evaluated potential entries and selected the artwork for the exhibit. The panel considered a number of criteria including design composition, originality and professionalism.
"The calibre of our students' art is truly phenomenal, and this is a superb opportunity for students to experience what goes into staging an exhibit," said Margaret Scott, dean, Schools of Design & Communication Arts at Durham College. "The show also gives our students a chance to gain exposure for their work. Some of the pieces may catch an art director's attention, and possibly lead to an assignment or even a job after graduation."
