Durham College applauds its fall 2002 graduating class

Durham College celebrated the dedication, determination and success of more than 350 graduates at its fall convocation ceremony today.

Diplomas and certificates were presented to graduating students from the schools of Business, Communication Arts, Design, Health, Human Studies, Integrated Studies, Justice Studies, Technology, Apprenticeship and Skilled Trades, as well as from Business & Industry Development Services. Convocation was held in the college's Oshawa campus gymnasium.

Darrell Sewell, a Durham College alumnus and corporate director of human resources at Lakeridge Health Corporation, was guest speaker.

Gary Polonsky, president of Durham College and University of Ontario Institute of Technology, noted, "Convocation is a time to celebrate the hard-earned academic accomplishments of our graduating class. On behalf of faculty and staff, I extend our heartfelt congratulations.

"We are entering a world of unlimited possibilities. Employers throughout Durham Region, Ontario and beyond know and value our highly skilled graduates who add immediate value to their organizations."
