Construction of Canada's newest university underway

Oshawa, Ont. - Members of the media are invited to a special ceremony celebrating the construction of the first building for the University of Ontario Institute of Technology as well as the completion of the new South Wing, created for Durham College and University of Ontario Institute of Technology students.

Located less than an hour east of Toronto, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology is Canada's newest university and Ontario's only laptop-based university. The university will greet its first class of students in September 2003 with a spectacular campus that has been designed by the internationally acclaimed firm of Diamond and Schmitt Architects Incorporated of Toronto.
