Businesses now have access to expanded services at Durham College's North campus in Uxbridge, thanks to the addition of customized training and more full-time staff.
Corporate programs will be developed and geared to meet specific employer needs. Many customized education programs, such as specialized software, communication skills, team building and time management, will help organizations remain competitive in the global market.
The North Durham Resource Centre, located at the Uxbridge campus, already offers a unique human resource solution for the business community, including:
employee screening; private and public job postings; first interviews for potential candidates; qualified clients who are matched with employer requirements; and mock interviews to prepare potential employees for the interview.
In today's business world, partnership with a continuous learning centre can improve on-the-job employee efficiency, which ultimately means more savings for companies.
While top-notch training can be provided at the Uxbridge campus, Durham also offers on-site employee training for maximum convenience. This means staff won't have to spend time travelling to a classroom or take evening or weekend courses.
"In addition to providing the training here or the employer's location, we can identify the needs of the business," said Jeanette Barrett, director of career development at Durham College.
As well as employer services, Durham's north campus provides computer workshops, general interest courses, academic upgrading and job connect services for young adults.
