Durham College Community Choir will be performing at a Heartbeat '98 - a benefit concert for the Cardiology Department, Hospital for Sick Children. This concert will take place on Saturday, May 9, 1998 at 2:00 pm at St. Mark's United Church, 201 Centre St. South, Whitby.
Along with the choir you will hear one of Canada's best known and greatest signers Maureen Forrester, accompanied by the talented musician and composer David Warrack. Other artists include the well-known children's entertainers "Just for Kids", the George Lake Big Band and the Durham College Community Choir Director, mezzo soprano Wendy Hedderwick White. Demonstrating his enthusiasm and support for the Durham College Community Choir, HeartBeat '98 and the Hospital for Sick Children, the President of Durham College, Gary Polonsky, will be making his public performance debut.
"The choir is delighted to be performing alongside some of Canada's brightest talents for a very deserving cause," stated Wendy Hedderwick White. "The Cardiology Department at Sick Kids has done a great deal for our family. This is our thank you."
HeartBeat '98 is the third in an ongoing series of concerts to raise funds for the Clinical Research Fund of the Department of Cardiology at the Hospital for Sick Children.
The concert is meant for families of all ages. Tickets are $10 per person and $25 per family. Tickets are available at Durham College Oshawa Campus, Westminster United Church, St. Marks United Church and Lafontaine's Trading Post in Whitby.
