Durham College Community Choir will present "A Century of Songs" concert on Sunday, May 4, 1997, 7:30 pm at the Westminster United Church, Whitby.
"A Century of Songs" concert will present music of the famous composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and a medley of songs, words and music by Irving Berlin. Along with the choir, the Pine Ridge Brass and the Dora Award Winning Song and Dance Team of Lesley Ballantyne and Scott Smith will also be featured.
Three years ago, a group of enthusiastic Durham College staff, along with the general Durham Region community members, formed the Durham College Community Choir. This non-audition choir provides an ongoing opportunity for everyone with a love of singing to come out, learn and participate in a performance such as "A Century of Songs."
"I enjoy the experience of working with people from across the Durham Region," stated Wendy Hedderwick-White, Director, Durham College Community Choir. "I appreciate their hard work and welcome the pleasure of sharing and performing music within our community."
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and children.
