Durham College will celebrate the graduation of approximately 1,700 students at the annual convocation ceremonies to be held at the Oshawa Civic Auditorium, 99 Thornton Road South, Oshawa, on Saturday, June 14, 1997.
Two ceremonies have been scheduled to confer diplomas and certificates. Peter Bagnall, General Director Customer Support Services, General Motors of Canada Limited will address the graduates of the morning ceremony. Jim Woodward, Legislative Assistant of the Ontario Division of CUPE will address the graduates of the afternoon ceremony.
At the 10:00 am ceremony, Arts & Administration and Business Divisions will recognize the success of their graduates.
Business and Skills Programming, Community Services, Health & Human Studies and Technology Divisions will honour their graduates at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.
For the first time, Durham College will honour eight students with a Durham College Leadership and Participation Award. Those students have demonstrated Durham College's values of Integrity, Respect & Educational Justice for All, Market Driven Innovation and Accountability, in a variety of ways throughout their academic careers.
Again this year, Durham College will recognize 24 employees of General Motors of Canada Ltd, and Peregrine Inc. with a two-year Business Leadership Diploma. They will graduate alongside the Business Division graduates at the 10:00 am ceremony.

An opportunity to photograph Durham College medal winners from both ceremonies will be provided at 1:00 p.m. in the Bobby Orr Lounge of the Oshawa Civic Auditorium.
