Ontario Trillium Foundation to announce major grant to support Special Olympics Ontario 2008 Spring Games in Durham Region

OSHAWA, Ont. - Officials from Durham College, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) and the Durham Regional Police Service will welcome representatives from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to campus next week for a major funding announcement supporting the Special Olympics Ontario 2008 Durham Region Spring Games and the Healthy Athletes Expo that will precede the Games. The announcement will include specific details of the grant, including the exact amount.

The Healthy Athletes program will provide Special Olympics athletes with a variety of health screenings and services through a series of clinics taking place at Durham College and UOIT. The clinics will be conducted May 8 to 10, three weeks prior to the Spring Games. Durham College and UOIT are the host site for the games' athletes and a number of events.
