Popular Canadian author to speak on campus

OSHAWA, Ont. - Ted Barris, a well-known Canadian author and broadcaster will be speaking about his most recent book, JUNO: Canadians at D-Day on January 18 at
5 p.m. in Room UA1140 of the Science building of
Durham
College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). The public is invited to attend.
This national bestseller features the story of D-Day (
June 6, 1944) through the eyes of some of the nearly 15,000 Canadians who took part in one of the greatest moments of our military history.
Barris, who is a resident of Uxbridge, is no stranger to writing. Having authored 11 books with another being released in February, he is also known for his hosting stints on CBC Radio, TV Ontario and CTV. Locally, he has worked with Words in
Whitby: A Celebration of Authors, including hosting the event since 2001.
JUNO: Canadians at D-Day is currently for sale in the campus bookstore, located in Room A125 of the Gordon Willey building on the
Oshawa campus.
