Legal Administration students to host career fair

March 16, 2005

OSHAWA, Ont. - Graduating Legal Administration students are taking charge of their futures by organizing and hosting Durham College's ninth annual Legal Administration Career Fair and Luncheon on March 21. The fair will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the Oshawa campus, and approximately 25 employers from Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area are expected to attend.

"It's going to help because it gives [us] a chance to network and get connections," said Jessica Spratley, class president. "It helps give [us] a foot in the door."

The event begins with a luncheon in Room G213 of the Gordon Willey building where guest speaker Krista Jorgensen will talk about her career path and give advice to graduating students. The class, which is divided into groups and led by a student ambassador, will then introduce their chosen employer. The Career Fair will move into Room JW201 where employers will have the opportunity to meet and interview graduating students.

Employers will be given a Resume Book that contains each graduate's resume. Anyone who is unable to attend, or is interested in receiving a booklet, should contact Career + Employment Services at 905.721.3034 or at ces@dc-uoit.ca.
