Durham College to host new and improved Summer Shorts workshops

April 26, 2005

OSHAWA, Ont. - Creative minds need nurturing, and they'll find no shortage of inspiration at the Summer Shorts workshop program being offered this year by the School of Design and Communication Arts at Durham College. Summer Shorts gives young artists the ability to work with great tools, practice with studio pros, and enjoy an amazing summer experience.

This year promises to be very exciting with new one-week workshops in animation, photography, graphic design and fine art that will run from the end of June until the middle of August. These workshops are geared to anyone aged 13 or over, which means adults too. Check out the program listings as there is something for everyone!

A workshop environment is the best way to learn new skills, and our instructors are all top-notch working faculty or professionals. In 2005, we are introducing the Master Class weekend workshop series, which is geared to the working adult/student or educator, with some degree of experience, who is looking for a challenging yet thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a weekend.

All who are interested in attending are encouraged to register early, as there are limited spots available! To learn more about these workshops, check out the website at http://dca.durhamc.on.ca/summershorts/. Registration can be done online, in person or by telephone.

For more information about specific workshops, contact Charlotte Hale, Summer Shorts co-ordinator at 905.721.3111 ext. 2281, or charlotte.hale@durhamcollege.ca.

Fundamental skills will be taken to new heights during these exciting, one-week workshops. If you've got a budding artist, photographer, animator or filmmaker in the family, don't miss out!
