Durham College and UOIT students attend the Faith Mosaic 2006 event that was held on campus on Thursday night.
More than 100 students turned out to celebrate Faith Mosaic 2006 at the Oshawa campus of Durham College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology last night. S.H.A.R.E. (Students for Humanitarianism & Action through Respect & Education), one of the largest student-run organizations on campus, hosted the event in collaboration with the Campus Church, the Muslim Student Association, and the Hindu Student Association.
A pilot project for S.H.A.R.E., Faith Mosaic 2006 included a two-hour presentation with representatives from each organization demonstrating a day in the life of a person of that faith. It also brought people of the Islamic, Christian, Hindu and Bahai faiths together to learn from one another while celebrating their differences.
Although this was the first year that Faith Mosaic took place, the hope is to create a more significant event each year. For more information please contact the Faith Mosaic 2006 organizing team at SHARE@SHAREdcuoit.org.
