Building Connections to host Grade seven/eight students at Durham College

School/college/work initiative promotes post-secondary education to local youth
OSHAWA, Ont. - 450 Grade seven/eight students as well as teachers from the Durham District School Board, Durham Catholic District School Board, Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and the Peterborough Victoria Clarington Catholic District School Board are taking part in Student Days at Durham College on Thursday, May 18.
The event is offering local youth an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities hosted by the Nursing, Justice, Business, and Technology schools at Durham College in order to encourage college as a post-secondary destination for students. The Durham Industry Education Council for the Advancement of Science and Technology will also be at the event.
Building Connections is a program funded by the school/college/work initiative through the Ontario Ministry of Education. The program was initiated by the Council of Ontario Directors of Education and the Committee of Presidents which is part of the Association of Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology of Ontario.
